SumUp Business Account

Create a merchant account with SumUp

To use SumUp, you must first create a merchant account with SumUp. This process is straightforward and can be done directly via the official SumUp website.

Here are the basic steps to create your account:

  • Enter your name and email address.
  • Add your bank details.
  • Confirm your details and complete the registration.

Once your account has been created, you can establish the connection between Travelmanager and SumUp. This is done via your Travelmanager backend under the menu items "System" and "Payment methods".

Checklist for SumUp payments

To successfully make payments via SumUp, you should follow the checklists below:

Payments via SumUp Devices:

  • Make sure your SumUp account is created and linked to Travelmanager.
  • The payment method "card payment" must be enabled in Travelmanager and the checkout must be stored with SumUp.
  • This payment method must also be active for the app.
  • Activate Bluetooth and location services on your iOS device.
  • For SumUp Solo devices, the EC device must not be set to "Standalone".
  • Make a purchase in the app and select "Card payment". Your SumUp device will now be displayed for connection via Bluetooth.

Payments via Tap to Pay on the iPhone:

  • Again, it is important that your SumUp account is created and linked to Travelmanager.
  • The payment method "Card payment" must be enabled and the checkout must be stored with SumUp. Also activate "Tap to Pay".
  • Make sure that Bluetooth and location services are active on your iOS device.
  • Your iPhone must be locked with a passcode; this can be stored in the device settings. You can set the code so that it is only required every 4 hours.
  • Make a test payment of 1 euro once in the Travelmanager TicketApp under "More" and "Tap to Pay".
  • After a successful test payment, you can use Tap to Pay on this device.
