Introduction to line management All timetables for lines, event trips and combined tickets are maintained in line management. The booking screen in the backend, online and in the ticket app uses the properties stored in line management. This central location is crucial for managing and booking your journeys. Handling and overview Under Administration > Lines, you can view all lines and search for specific lines. The "Open list in Excel" function allows you to easily import and edit the list of routes. Create new route To create new routes, click on "Create new route". You can edit existing lines by clicking on the notepad icon next to the respective line. Use the buttons in the line list to activate or deactivate lines and make them available online or not. Fill out completely In order for a journey to be bookable in the booking screen, all tabs in the line management must be filled out and confirmed once. This is crucial to ensure that all relevant information is entered correctly. Booking rules The booking rules define from where to where a journey can be booked, especially for journeys with several different stations and turnaround points. It is important that the return point is not overridden so that the journey first goes there and then back. Lines and round trips Lines represent journeys such as course connections between different stations. The capacity calculation takes into account the passengers boarding and alighting at the stations, based on the ship's capacity information and optional deviations in the line properties and the traffic day. Round trips start and end at the same starting point. In the line management, check the box "Only one-way trips possible". Event trips Event trips are characterized by a few stations and usually end at the starting station. They are often combined with a catering package, such as a brunch ride. Here too, capacity is calculated on the basis of the number of passengers boarding and disembarking and the capacity of the ship. Combi-tickets Combi-tickets combine one or more stored scheduled trips into one booking. They make it possible to combine certain routes into one ticket that goes beyond the classic outward and return journey. The capacity of combined tickets is calculated from the values stored in the properties. If there is a seating requirement for the scheduled trips, this is taken into account when booking in the backend and possibly online. Transport days can either be set at line level or "inherited" to another line. If ships operate in a multi-class configuration, this is also taken into account in the combined ticket. The classes in the combined ticket must correspond 1:1 to the classes of the ship Settings in line management Line management is based on the settings in the system parameters. Only delete entries with care and great caution. In the case of bookings for a specific line, the properties should only be subsequently changed in exceptional cases to ensure the integrity of the booking data.
